Details of Disappearance
Michael Dunahee was last seen as he played on an elementary school playground in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada on March 24th 1991. He was last seen at approximately 12:00 pm. He vanished at some point afterwards and was never seen or heard from again.
His mother was playing ball in a nearby field at the time and his father was watching from a side field at the time. No one saw Michael vanish or witnesses what could’ve happened to him. Despite the lack of evidence, authorities treated Michael’s case as a stranger abduction from the beginning. They believe someone took him form the playground when no one was looking.
It’s possible that Dunahee was taken across the border into the United States after his abduction. There were reported sightings of the boy in Southern New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware since his disappearance.
In the series of sightings, Dunahee was seen with an African American male who stood at 5’10” and weighed between 160 and 180 pounds. He was also said to have a pockmarked face. The last reported sighting of Dunahee took place on June 19th 1991 when the African American male attempted to abduct a 7 year old girl from Berlin Borough, New Jersey.
The girl and a companion both stated that they saw a young male matching Dunahee’s description in the back seat of his car. Despite the sightings, authorities have not confirmed if they are those of the child.
Michael’s case remains unsolved and his abductor remains unidentified. He has not been seen since his disappearance or the alleged sightings. Authorities continue to receive tips in his case, especially around the anniversary of his disappearance.
