Details of Disappearance
Wendy was last seen at her home in Marion, Indiana on June 4th 1987. Her sister and parents left the home since her sister was driving them part way to the airport. They were going on a business trip at the time. Wendy voluntarily chose to stay home and when her sister returned at 5:00 pm, Wendy was gone. She hasn’t been seen or heard from since.
Investigators initially believed that Wendy ran away from her home voluntarily but have since revised that possibility. She left behind all of her personal belongings which included her purse and her favorite pair of sneakers. They believe she disappeared from the residence at some point between 2:00 pm and 5:00 pm that day.
A man named David W. Grenier was considered as a possible suspect at one point in Wendy’s disappearance and the 1993 disappearance of Tricia Reiter from the same area. In 1999, he was charged with the abduction and molestation of a young girl. His home was searched for evidence in relation to Felton’s and Reiter’s cases but nothing was found.
David has been cleared of any suspicion in the two cases. There are no other suspects in Wendy’s disappearance and it’s unclear what happened to her. Her case remains unsolved.
