Details of Disappearance
Aron Silverman was last seen in Norfolk, Virginia on July 5th 1993. He was last seen leaving a party being held at a friends residence. His brother stated that Aron has spent the large majority of his time at the part with a freelance go-go dancer who was from the Newport News, Virginia area.
His brother told investigators that Aron told the woman that he and his family owned a boat and that she should accompany them on a ride sometime. He was apparently intoxicated at the time as were most of the party goers. Aron left the party at some point during the night.
It was not unusual for Aron to leave and stay away for a few days. He did not take anything of value with him that night and his loved ones and friends didn’t hear of any plans for him to leave. Investigators classified his disappearance as a runaway due to his history of disappearing.
Aron’s best friend at the time stated that while Aron did get into arguments with his parents, they did not have any serious relationship problems and he doesn’t believe that Aron would be gone for so long without contacting his loved ones.
Aron’s father immediately began searching for his son after his disappearance. He visited and searched various bars in the Newport News area. He was able to learn that a dancer at one of the many establishments had a blonde haired boyfriend who matched Aron’s physical description.
He was told that the girl lived in a trailer park and was known to drive a red Pontiac Trans Am. He was unable to locate the file or her supposed boyfriend. He also count find her vehicle. It’s unknown of this girl was actually involved with Aron.
At the time of his disappearance, Aron enjoyed fishing and also played guitar. He did not graduate from high school and has a history of drug use. He was also having financial and personal problems at the time of his disappearance. His parents have since divorced.
Aron’s disappearance remains unsolved and is classified as an endangered runaway.
