Details of Disappearance
William and Charles Vosseler we’re abducted by their non custodial father, Charles Martin Vosseler Jr., in Rochester, New Hampshire on October 9th 1986. A federal warrant for unlawful flight to avoid prosecution was issued for Charles on April 3rd 1987. Warrants for him were also issued on February 5th 1987 for custodial interference. He is wanted for Parental Abduction.
Charles told his wife, Ruth Parker, that he was taking the boys out of state that weekend to visit relatives. When he didn’t drop them off at her apartment the following Monday, she went to the real estate office that Charles worked and discovered that he had shut down the company which left his employees without jobs.
Charles Vosseler Jr. is described as being 44 years old at the time of the abductions, Caucasian, he stood at 6’1″ and weighed 220 pounds, and had brown hair and blue eyes. His nickname is “Charlie” and may use the middle names Malcom or Martin, or the last names “Amidon/Foster/Wilson”. He may use the alias birth dates March 6th 1943 or February 6th 1944. Charles May wear eyeglasses or contact lenses and his right eye is known to twitch when he is stressed.
Charles was born and raised in Connecticut and was a graduate from Coe College in Iowa with a bachelors degree in Economics.
Parker was able to later determine that Charles had been planning the kidnappings for a very long time. He had removed her from their joint checking accounts and stopped the automatic payments for her car which was just about to be repossessed. She was months behind on payments.
When Parker went to the home they shared, she found that Charles has taken all of the photos depicting the boys as well as address books, credit cards, and many of Ruth’s personal belongings. He also emptied the family’s bank account and auctioned a lot of items the family had in storage at the time.
Charles’s ex wife stated that he once told her that she was lucky they didn’t have kids because he would’ve taken them if they had. It’s possible that Charles planned to keep Charles and William to himself and chose Parker for the good aspects and qualities of her life.
The Vosseler’s May be driving in a 1979 GMC Jimmy Truck with the Nebraska license plate number 2R6093 or the Virgins license plate number IBV565. Charles Jr. has ties to Connecticut, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Florida, and Oklahoma.
In 1987, a woman who lived in Stillwell, Oklahoma reported that she was seeing a man named Charles Wilson and that he had two boys. She later called the Child Find Hotline after noticing the boys matched the photos of the missing boys on a missing child poster. But before authorities could arrest him, he burned his house, his car, and some belongings. This was probably done to make it impossible to track him down in the future.
Charles was traced to Oklahoma in 2006 but there has been no sign of him or the boys since. Ruth now lives in North Carolina and hopes that one day, the boys will contact her to confirm they are ok and to verify their well being. Caution is advised when approaching Charles or the two boys, he is considered armed and dangerous. The children remain missing.
