Details of Disappearance
Shaunda was last seen at her family’s home in Ypsilanti, Michigan on October 15th 1983. When her father, Jessie Claybron, woke up the next morning she was nowhere to be found. No one has seen or heard from her since.
Green had a history of running away starting at age 12. Usually, Shaunda would return on her own for be found and her parents notified. This time, she never returned home and was never located. Her mother, Beverly Wiley, went looking for her daughter in the places that she typically went to when she ran away but she wasn’t in any of them.
Prior to her disappearance, Shaunda was having issues with truancy and her mother attempted to enroll her in a program for troubled juveniles. She couldn’t be held in a juvenile detention center, however, because she hadn’t committed any crime.
For many years, Shaunda’s parents suspected that she ran away and started a new life. However, her social security number hasn’t been used since 1983 and no one who knew her has reported hearing from her since the night she disappeared. Her disappearance remains unsolved.
