Details of Disappearance

Alfred was last seen on December 14th 1968 in Monterey, California. He was with a friend, Sammy Jackson, who is also missing. They both had gotten up early that morning to go fishing at Fisherman’s Wharf which was something they were known to do.

A bus driver remembered seeing the two of them at the bus stop at 4:30 am and spoke to Alfred at some point. He let the two boys off at Del Monte Avenue which was near the Wharf. Neither of the boys were ever seen or heard from again. Alfred’s father went out to look for the boys when his son didn’t return by 5:00 pm and called the police when he couldn’t find them.

Investigators have considered the possibility that both boys drowned while fishing. Despite this, the circumstances of their disappearance are unknown and no traces have ever been found either boy. It’s possible they were sighted in Cannery Row after they went missing.

At the time of his disappearance, Alfred lived with his family in the 100 block of Hilo Street in Marina, CA. His family does not believe the boys left on their own and Alfred had no extra possessions with him that day. His parents moved to Salinas, CA. Alfred and Sammy remain missing and their case unsolved.
