Details of Disappearance

Michael was last seen in San Francisco, California on April 11th 1983. He was last seen at a giant boulder known as “Fisherman’s Rock” which was located at the oceans ledge and near the Cliff House. He is believed to have fallen from the rock and drowned. The area was located in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area and was popular and well known for its brutal and sneaky waves.

Between the years 1984 and 1989, various people have been swept off the rock and two drowned and died as a result. Others were rescued before they could drown but sustained severe injuries. Ewing’s body was never found, however. After his disappearance, his family contributed funds for the publication of a safety brochure which warned of the dangers in the Oceanside sections of the National recreation area.

Ewing’s disappearance remains unsolved but he is presumed deceased.
