Details of Disappearance
Rickey was last seen in Monroe City, Missouri on June 30th 1977. He was last seen leaving his fathers residence with an unidentified individual. The person owned a vehicle with Illinois State license plates. He told his family he would be back soon but never came back. He has never been heard from again.
Investigators have checked to see if Enochs DNA matched any unidentified victims of serial killer John Wayne Gacy. He has been ruled out for most of them. It’s been considered either way that Gacy might have killed Enochs. He was known to travel through Missouri. His possible connection to the case was given by a psychic.
It’s also been suggested that Gacy could be responsible for the 1967 disappearances of Joel Hoag, William Hoag, and Edwin Dowell from Hannibal, MO and the 1968 disappearance of John Wagner from Monroe City. There’s no evidence that Gacy was involved in Enochs case but he did commit many of his crimes in Illinois and the person that Enochs left with had Illinois license plates.
Very little information is available about his disappearance but investigators do not believe he disappeared voluntarily as he left all of his personal belongings behind. Foul play is suspected in his case. His case remains unsolved.
