Details of Disappearance

Scott was last seen in Indianapolis, Indiana on August 14th 1978. He was last known to have gone to a convenience store just down the street from his home at the time. He never returned home and was never seen or heard from again.

Scott was a chronic runaway ya the time of his disappearance. He phones his family 3 days after his disappearance to tell them that he was working for a carnival in Pennsylvania. He was last heard from in 1989 when he called a family friend to say he was still working for the carnival. The conversation was brief and he would not reveal where he was. He never contacted anyone again.

Investigators thought they had solved Scott’s case and the case of an unidentified male in 2007. In 1990, the badly beaten and shot body of a male was found in a wooded area of Daviess County, Kentucky. His identification could not be confirmed at the time because his hands, feet, and teeth had been removed from his body. The body was identified as Scott but in 2009, DNA analysis found that the remains were not those of Scott and the body remains unidentified to this day.

His case was reclassified as missing in 2010. His case remains unsolved and various agencies still list him as a runaway.
