Details of Disappearance
Corey Gilbert was last seen in Metairie, Louisiana on December 16th 1984. He disappeared from the Ten-To-Ten grocery store in the 3200 block of Jefferson Highway at 12:30 pm. He was playing a video game with his cousin and he turned his back for a brief moment. When he turned back, Corey had disappeared. He was never seen or heard from again afterwards.
It’s unclear what exactly happened to Corey but some reports state he was playing with a cousin near the Mississippi River in Metairie, Louisiana when he fell into the river and drowned. Most missing persons listings state it’s possible he fell into the River. No body has ever been recovered.
Corey’s disappearance remains unsolved. At the time of his disappearance, he resided with his family in the 500 block of South Causeway Boulevard. Some agencies state he disappeared while walking to a neighborhood store.
