Details of Disappearance

Terry was last seen with his brother, Alan, on September 12th 1964 in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Their stepfather, Carl Bock, reportedly dropped the two boys off at the Broadway Theater on Hay Street. It’s unclear if the brothers actually walked into the theater and they have never been seen again.

Authorities questioned Carl in relation to their disappearance. He said he dropped the two boys off at the theater at approximately 5:30 pm and when he went to pick them up at 8:00 pm they had disappeared. Employees who worked at the theater were also questioned. Some remembered seeing the boys that evening but others reported they do not recall seeing them at all. The boys were both regular customers so they would’ve been easily recognized.

Investigators believe that Carl was possibly responsible in some way for their disappearance. He was separated from their mother at the time and was an Army sergeant who worked in the Criminal Investigations Division at Fort Bragg at the time. He was shipped overseas in 1965. Their biological father was also questioned and was ruled out as a suspect.

Investigators theorize that the boys may have been abducted and murdered afterwards. No one has been charged in relation to the case. Bock was interviewed regarding their disappearance in 2000. Him and the boys mother have since divorced and he was last known to be living in Wisconsin.

The boys both remain missing and their disappearances unsolved.
