Details of Disappearance
Robby was last seen in Salt Lake City, Utah on October 7th 1982. He reportedly escaped from the Youth Diagnostic Center with another boy and was never seen or heard from again after this. The boy who ex sped with Robby was later located and claimed they both split from each other once they were off of the centers grounds.
Investigators originally assumed he was a runaway since he had done so before. He reportedly ran away from his home prior to his disappearance and once ran away to Colorado where he took laboring jobs like roofing in order to get by. He began to get in double with the law in 1978 and always committed minor offenses. A month before he went missing, Robby was arrested for tobacco violation and was placed in the Center he escaped from.
The Youth Diagnostic Center was a juvenile detention center in 1982 located in Salt Lake City. Authorities were considering to refer him for the Utah Boys Ranch, a residential treatment facility. Robby did not like this and was very against this idea. Robbys mother and police are now considering that he might have met with foul play after his escape.
Robby was said to always be in regular contact with his mother and would always let her know when he was in trouble. His mother never heard from Robby again after his disappearance and there have been no reported sightings of him since 1982. He also failed to collect a substantial inheritance that was due to him on his 18th birthday on August 2nd 1983.
Robbys mother was able to find out that he was in the Boulder, Colorado on March 16th 1984. He was reportedly using the name “Bobbert Casper”. This is reportedly the only trace of Robby’s whereabouts since he disappeared in 1982.
At the time of his disappearance, Robby resides in Provo, Utah. He was adopted at the age of 11 months and he was well aware of this when he disappeared. His mother said he seemed to show little to now interest in locating his biological parents or his half brother. It should also be noted that Robby is no longer wanted by juvenile authorities
Robbys disappearance remains unsolved. He was declared legally deceased in January of 1991. His case is classified as a runaway with many agencies.
