Details of Disappearance

Randy Parscale was last seen as he hiked with his grandfather and two brothers in Peppersauce Canyon in the Santa Catalina Mountains which is located near Oracle, Arizona on April 7th of 1979. He disappeared after wandering ahead of them and was never seen or heard from again.

Authorities commenced extensive searches for Randy and for nearly a week, over a hundred volunteers searched for him. No trace of him was ever found, however. One of the searchers who helped look for Randy died of a heart attack while searching for the boy.

Authorities initially theorized that Randy may have fallen down an abandoned mine shaft or had gotten lost in the mountains. A tracker was able to located the footprints of a child and they stopped at a dirt road. The footprints are believed to have belonged to Randy and investigators theorize he got into a vehicle at that point. Randy’s mother, Peggy Foley, believes that her son was abducted and she hopes he is located.

Randy’s disappearance remains unsolved and is classified as a non family abduction. His father and two grandfathers have since died.
