Circumstances of Disappearance
Angela Ramsey was last seen in Deland, Florida on June 21st 1977. She was reported missing that day when she failed to attend a dinner date with a man she met there. She has not been seen or heard from since.
Angela did not live in the area. She hitchhiked with truckers from Columbia, South Carolina to Deland and stayed with a friend there until she checked into the Boulevard Motel. She checked into the motel on June 19th and was staying there for two days.
After she was reported as a missing person, authorities searched her motel room and found that all of Angela’s belongings were there and untouched. A photo of Angela taken by the motels swimming pool was also found and it was taken by the man with whom she would be meeting that night.
Investigators also discovered an un mailed letter that Angela had written to her best friend in Columbia, South Carolina. In the letter, she stated that she missed her mother and her home.
Authorities did question the man that Angela was supposed to see that night. He was also the same person who reported Angela’s disappearance. He is not a suspect in the case and he found and turned in Angela’s motel key into investigators.
At the time of Angela’s disappearance, she was described as a well behaved and polite teenager. Her father was an officer in the United States Army so Angela and her family would travel a lot. Angela has many friends throughout the country.
Angela’s friend attempted to offer her money prior to her disappearance for unknown reasons. Angela’s case remains unsolved and she has never been found. Authorities suspect that foul play was involved in the case.
