Circumstances of Disappearance

Olisa Williams was last seen at some point in 1982. She was last known to be living with her mother, Denise Williams, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Olisa and her father, Isaiah Williams, moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan. After Isaiah knocked Denise out and took Olisa.

Isiah and Denise has been married since 1979 but due to the time that Isiah spent in prison for abuse against Denise, she had a relationship with another man who impregnated her with Olisa. Isiah was not Olisa’s biological father, her biological father is not believed to have been involved in her disappearance.

After they moved to Ann Arbor, Olisa vanished. Isiah claimed that he was under the influence of alcohol and drugs at the time and was driving with the girl. He stated that he stopped in Island Park and fell asleep. When he woke up, the side door of his vehicle was open and Olisa was gone.

He initially claimed that he did report the girls alleged kidnapping at the time because he assumed that Denise or one of their relatives had taken the girl. Isiah said this while he was in court for violating a restraining order.

After Olisa’s disappearance, Denise received several phone calls from Isiah where he explained the girls fate. He told her things like that he had lost the child, or that he had killed her and that she was “across the water”, or that she got sick and died in a hospital. He may have said this to hurt her.

Many areas were searched in regards to Olisa’s disappearance but nothing in relation to her was found. Authorities doubt that Olisa was abducted but rather killed by her father or given to others to raise. It’s possible that Olisa does not know she’s missing. Her mother continues to hope that her daughter is alive and safe out there.

Olisa’s case remains unsolved. Many agencies continue to list Olisa as a stranger abduction.
