Details of Disappearance

Jackie Leslie was last seen with her sister, Cynthia Leslie, on July 31st 1974 in Mesa, Arizona. They were last seen as they walked to a friends home which was located 3 blocks away from their residence in the Desert Shores Mobile Home Park.

The sisters were last seen walking down Baseline Road near Power Road. Jackie and Cynthia never returned home and have never been seen or heard from since. They left all of their personal belongings behind.

Cynthia and Jackie left a note for their mother in which they stated they were going to babysit. She leaned that Cynthia and Jackie were actually going to attend a party. The girls’ father specially told Cynthia to avoid a certain teenage boy who has not been identified. It’s possible that Cynthia wanted to meet the individual during the evening.

Authorities questioned the people who went to the party that night. Some of them recalled seeing the sisters at the party but others stated that the sisters never even arrived.

Cynthia and Jackie’s father was diagnosed with terminal cancer earlier in 1974 and the family and moved to the trailer park do they would be closer to the local hospital. Their mother stated that the girls were both close to their father and would not leave him since he was ill.

Cynthia and Jackie’s disappearance remains unsolved and foul play is suspected. Their father died several months after they disappeared and their mother remarried after his death. She now lives in Kingman, Arizona to be closer to her eldest daughter who lives in the state of Nevada.
