Missing From: Hamilton, Allegan County, Michigan

Classification: Endangered Missing

Date Of Birth: June 23, 1974

Age: 14 years old

Date Recovered: February 4, 2020

Identified: March 11, 2020

Details of Disappearance

Aundria was last seen in Hamilton, Michigan on March 11th 1989. Her birth name was Alexis Miranda Badger. She was believed to have left on her own accord from her adoptive parents home. For many years, her disappearance was classified as an endangered runaway until investigators started to suspect that foul play was involved.

Her adoptive father, Dennis Bowman, was the one who reported her as a runaway but his stories about her disappearance were inconsistent. In January of 2020, Dennis confessed to killing Alexis in March of 1989. He is currently awaiting trial for the 1980 murder of Kathleen Doyle in Virginia. On February 4th 2020, Investigators dug at Dennis’s residence and found Alexis’s remains buried under a cement slab in his backyard. She was identified on March 11th 2020.

Alexis previously accused Bowman of inappropriately touching her before her disappearance. He was charged with open murder, felony murder, first degree child abuse, and mutilation of a corpse in relation to Aundria’s death in May of 2020. Her real mother, Cathy, never gave up hope of finding her and bringing her justice. She has been searching for her daughter for decades.

In December of 2021, Dennis plead no contest to second degree murder in his adoptive daughter’s death and is currently awaiting sentencing.

Wanda Ann Herr

Left and Right: Wanda circa, 1969 and Wanda circa 1964

Vital Statistics at Time of Disappearance

Missing Since: June 1, 1976

Missing From: Gresham, Multnomah County, Oregon

Classification: Endangered Missing

Date Of Birth: circa, 1957

Age: 19 years old

Date Recovered: August 2, 1986

Identified: October of 2020

Details of Disappearance

Wanda was last seen at a group home in Gresham, Oregon in June of 1976. That was the last known time she contacted her family and she was never heard from again afterwards. Wanda wasn’t reported as missing until over 40 years had passed in her disappearance and little is known about her life before her disappearance.

Investigators believe based off interviews that Herr was a chronic runaway and had done so several times before her final disappearance. There was no evidence of her existence after 1976. On August 2nd 1986, two Forest Service Workers found her remains near two roads off of Highway 26 in Government Camp, Oregon.

Only Wanda’s skull and a few other bones were found. It was unknown if the remains belonged to a young woman or a small male at the time of their discovery. It was initially estimated that the person died at some point between 1985 and 1986. In 2008, it was discovered that the remains belonged to a young woman who was between 17 and 30 years of age.

It was additionally found that the decedents remains were in the wooded area for approximately 10 years before being found which fit with the time frame in Wanda’s disappearance. It was announced in 2020 that the remains belonged to Wanda via DNA. It’s unclear how she died and the circumstances surrounding her death are unclear.

Witnesses told authorities and investigators that Judith left the party at approximately 2:00 am in her black 1972 or 1977 Dodge Dart. She was never seen or heard from again and her car was also never recovered at the time. For many years, foul play was suspected.

On November 2nd 2021, Massachusetts State Police and civilian divers located Judith’s vehicle in the Concord River and were able to positively match the car to her through the identification number. Sonar technology was used to find the vehicle which was located between approximately 50-57 yards off shore and in 8-10 feet of water.

A day after the cars discovery, a second search commenced which uncovered human skeletal remains and identification belonging to Chartier. The remains have been identified as Judith and the investigation into her death is ongoing. It’s unclear if foul play is still suspected.

Jeffrey Allen Klungness

Left and Right: Jeffrey, circa 1996

Vital Statistics at Time of Disappearance

Missing Since: March 2, 1996

Missing From: Bonney Lake, Pierce County, Washington

Classification: Endangered Missing

Date Of Birth: December 9, 1981

Age: 14 years old

Date Recovered: October 17, 2017

Location: Greenwater, Pierce County, Washington

Identified: November 2021

Details of Disappearance

Jeffrey was last seen in Bonney Lake, Washington on March 2nd 1996. On that day, the body of his mother, Susan, was discovered in their mobile home located in the 20400 block of east 113th Street. She was the victim of a homicide and was presumably beaten to death with a blunt object. She was killed by a blow to her head.

Investigators believe she was killed while she sat in an armchair in her living room. Investigators found a trail of blood which led from the chair and into her bedroom. They theorize she either crawled to the room before dying or was dragged there.

Her body was discovered when her husband and Jeffrey’s father, Ron, came home from work. He arrived home at some point between 4:00 pm and 4:30 pm and found that the front door to the residence was unlocked and the television set inside was on. When he attempted to open his bedroom door, he was unable to. When he was finally able to open it at 6:30 pm, he found Susan’s body slumped on the door.

Some of Ron’s personal belongings like his gold watch and approximately $700 in cash were stolen from the home. Jeffrey was nowhere to be found and has not been heard from since. Ron said he last spoke to Jeffrey during a phone call at 9:30 that morning.

Investigators did not believe that Jeffrey ran away from home or was responsible for his mother’s death. They instead theorized that Jeffrey was probably the victim of foul play and was probably taken by whomever killed his mother. Martin S. Malcom or more commonly referred to as “Marty” claimed he discovered Susan’s body on the day she was murdered and panicked as a result. He stated that he fled the home in Susan’s maroon colored Toyota Camry station wagon with the license plate number 093GHZ.

The car was discovered the next morning at 4:00 am. It was found abandoned in a convenience store parking lot in Auburn, Washington. Martin went to the police and turned himself in during the same day and admitted to withdrawing $300 from Susan’s bank account on the day of her murder and claimed to have spent it all at the Muckleshoot Casino that same evening.

He was arrested as a result and was charged with possession of stolen property. He was given a sentence of 45 days in prison and refused to cooperate with investigators regarding Jeffrey and Susan’s disappearances.

Martin was reportedly the last person known to have been with Jeffrey before his disappearance. Neighbors said they had seen the child with Martin prior to his disappearance and Martin also stated he took Jeffrey from his home for a haircut at 11:30 am. Not too long afterwards, a surveillance camera at a drive through bank ATM showed Martin driving Susan’s vehicle.

The camera did not show Jeffrey but a woman who was in line behind Martin said she saw a young person in the car with him at the time. Martin would go on to claim he dropped Jeffrey off at his home at 12:30 pm and left to run an errand. He returned home and said he found Susan murdered and Jeffrey missing.

Martin was a close friend of Jeffreys family and was known to often drive him places. He was becoming unwelcome in the family home by March of 1996 since he spent so much time at the home and never refilled the gas tanks in the car after he drove it. He has never been charged with killing Susan or in connection to Jeffrey’s disappearance.

Martin was previously in prison for the slaying of his estranged wife in 1980. He was convicted of 2nd degree murder but was released from prison in 1992. Investigators are hoping to possibly find Ron’s missing watch. The watch disappeared from the home when Susan was slain. The watch is described as a Seiko Quartz with a gold finish and the serial number SGF 206. It is engraved with his name and a message which thanked him for 30 years of service with Boeing.

On October 17th 2017, mushroom pickers discovered a human skull fragment in a wooded area near Greenwater, Washington. Further searches of the area initially failed to uncover any further evidence. In August of 2020, mitochondrial DNA tests on the bone linked it to Jeffrey’s half sister. The following month, a fibula bone and articles of clothing were found at the site where the fragment was originally discovered.

In November of 2021, DNA tests officially confirmed the bones belonged to Jeffery Klungness. An autopsy showed he was the victim of a homicide, having been killed by blunt force trauma. Police believe Martin Malcolm probably killed Jeffrey and his mother but he died in 2022, likely taking anything he knew to the grave with him.

Kyle Wade Clinkscales

Left and Center: Kyle circa, 1976

Vital Statistics at Time of Disappearance

Missing Since: January 27, 1976

Missing From: LaGrange, Troup County, Georgia

Classification: Endangered Missing

Date Of Birth: October 2, 1953

Age: 22 years old

Date Recovered: December 7, 2021

Identified: December 13, 2021

Details of Disappearance

Kyle was last seen in LaGrange, Georgia on January 27th 1976. He was last seen at the Moose Club at approximately 11:00 pm. He was a bar tender at the club and left the location to drive 35 miles away to Auburn University where he was a student. He never arrived there and has never been seen or heard from since.

At the time, Kyle was driving a White two door 1974 Pinto Runabout with the Georgia license plate number CEF-717 and the VIN number 4T11Y207954. The vehicle was not located for many years.

Authorities believed for many years that Clinkscales was murdered on the night of his disappearance. In 2005, a man called Kyle’s parents and stated that he witnessed the disposal of his body. The individual would have been a child when the disposal occurred and stated that his body was covered in concrete, stuffed in a barrel, and thrown into a pond on a private property.

The pond was searched but Clinkscales body was not found. The persons information led to the arrest of two individuals in relation to his disappearance. The first to be arrested was Jimmy Earl Jones whom was charged with concealing a death, hindering the apprehension of a criminal, and two counts of making false statements.

The next person to be arrested was Jeanne Pawlak Johnson. She was charged with concealing a death, making false statements, and obstruction of justice. Jones and Johnson have not been charged with killing Kyle but they are believed to have been involved in his death and disposal.

Authorities believe that the person who killed Kyle was a man named Ray Hyde. Authorities believe that Hyde and Kyle knew each other prior to his murder. Hyde was a member of the bar that Kyle worked at. It’s believed that Kyle was killed because he had knowledge of Hyde’s criminal activities at the time.

Jones would later reveal that on January 27th 1976, he arrived at Hyde’s home to find Kyle dead. He was killed by being shot to death. Jones helped in dragging Kyles body to Hyde’s shop before it was dumped on the pond.

Ray died in 2001, before that he told Jones that he went back to the pond and recovered Kyles body in the barrel before dumping it at another location. Jones served 9 years in prison for his role in Kyles death and has since been released.

On December 7th 2021, a man contacted police and reported he saw a vehicle sticking out of a creek in Cusseta, Alabama. Later during the same day, the vehicle was removed from the water and was determined to be the long lost car that Kyle was last seen driving in that night. The VIN number and the License plate linked the vehicle to his name.

Inside the vehicle, investigators discovered possessions of Kyle’s which included his wallets and credit cards. Partial skeletal remains were also discovered inside the vehicle and they have been sent to a laboratory for DNA analysis. It’s strongly believed that the remains are those of Kyle. His death is under investigation.

Hoover Jerome Morris

Left and Right: Hoover circa, 1991

Vital Statistics at Time of Disappearance

Missing Since: November 22, 1991

Missing From: Heflin, Cleburne County, Alabama

Classification: Endangered Missing

Date Of Birth: January 23, 1973

Age: 18 years old

Date Recovered: Summer of 1997

Identified: April 23, 2022

Details of Disappearance

Hoover was last seen in Heflin, Alabama on November 22nd 1991. He and his sister were helping their mother prepare for thanksgiving since she had just gotten a surgery on her knee. His sister noticed a red sports car pulled up to the house. Inside was a woman whom his mother previously told him to stay away from. He went out to see what was going on and he came back to say she had been sent by his brother to pick him up. Hoover’s mother trusted him and he left. He has never been seen or heard from again.

His older brother eventually returned home and claimed he sent no one to get Hoover and that he didn’t know this woman. They called everyone that knew Hoover but couldn’t find him. They reported him missing later on. His brother assumed that Hoover lied about being picked up so he could gain permission to leave with the woman. This hasn’t been confirmed.

The woman was questioned by police following his disappearance but there was no evidence to suggest anything suspicious happened to Hoover at the time. His sister believes that his disappearance could be drug related since he was involved with drugs at the time. She believes he might have fallen in with the wrong crowd.

In the summer of 1997, Hoover’s skeletal remains were discovered on a property off County Road 533. Someone was preparing the property for a house when they came upon the remains in a wooded area. DNA testing could not occur at the time due to weathering of the remains by elements.

In 2020, the cases of Hoover and the remains were reopened and the remains were sent to a lab in Canada for analysis. In April of 2022, Hoover’s remains were positively identified through DNA testing. His family was notified on April 23rd. Investigators have reclassified his case as a homicide and his death is under investigation.

Cynthia Renee Mabry

Above: Cynthia circa, 1976

Vital Statistics at Time of Disappearance

Missing Since: December 2, 1976

Missing From: Russellville, Pope County, Arkansas

Classification: Endangered Missing

Date Of Birth: circa, 1963

Age: 13 years old

Details of Disappearance

Cynthia was last seen in Russellville, Arkansas on December 2nd 1976. She was last seen at her residence in the Fairview Estates Neighborhood at approximately 5:30 pm. She was never seen or heard from again after her disappearance. Cynthia wasn’t the only girl to disappear that day.

Two other girls, 13 year old Teresa Williams and 14 year old Crystal Donita Parton, were both reported missing from their residences which were in the same neighborhood as Cynthia. None of the three girls were ever seen again. Investigators initially considered them as runaways but later revised their theory on the cases.

On Thanksgiving day of 1986, a couple who were deer hunting found what appeared to be human bones in a remote area located near the Pope/Newton County line. On December 2nd 1986, investigators located three leg bones and an arm bone while searching the area. Two days later, investigators found a matted mass which had bones, clothing, and roots in it. The remains were identified as those of Parton and Williams. Cynthia was not found at the time but was presumed deceased as well.

In October of 1998, investigators stated they knew who killed the three Russellville girls. A woodcutter named James B. Grinder was named as their probable killer. At the time, he was already in prison serving a sentence for burglary in Missouri. Earlier that year, he was charged with the murder of Julie Helton who was 25 when she was slain in 1984.

James admitted he knew Cynthia, Teresa, and Crystal in 1976. He initially told police he gave them a ride from Russellville to Pottsville, Arkansas on the day they went missing. He claimed that he gave them $20 and left them on an interstate. He later confessed to killing the three girls.

James stated he picked the three girls up on the outskirts of Russellville and drove them to Morrilton, Arkansas. He purchased alcohol for them and then brought them to the Brock Cemetery. He raped Crystal and Teresa before stabbing them to death. He covered their bodies up with brush.

He claimed that he drove Cynthia to a location in the Ozark National Forest. He said he raped Cynthia and beat her to death using a tire iron. He said he left her body there without attempting to conceal it. According to several missing persons agencies, Mabry is no longer missing and her case has been closed.

Caren Doris Wurst

Left and Right: Caren circa, 1974

Vital Statistics at Time of Disappearance

Missing Since: October 20, 1974

Missing From: Warminister, Bucks County, Pennsylvania

Classification: Endangered Missing

Date Of Birth: December 7, 1970

Age: 3 years old

Date Recovered: August 10, 2024

Details of Disappearance

Caren was last seen in Warminister, Pennsylvania on October 20th 1974. She was last known to be in the company of her mother, Doris Helen Wurst. They were driving in a red four-door 1961 Chevrolet Impala with the Pennsylvania license plate 80F423.

Doris was involved in a custody dispute with the child’s father. She took Caren to Plantation, Florida after leaving Pennsylvania. They were living in the 1300 block of North West 2nd Street which was known as the Sunshine City Trailer Park. It has since been demolished and is no longer in existence.

Doris and Caren were last confirmed to be alive on November 7th 1974. They were reported missing five days later and both were never seen or heard from again. Doris’ ex-husband stated his wife threatened to take both her and Caren’s lives if he didn’t let her have full custody. Despite searches, the pair were never found.

Caren and Doris were declared legally deceased in 1976, two years after they vanished. Follow up investigations during the years following revealed no trace of them or the missing vehicle.

On August 10th 2024, the missing Wurst vehicle was located in a canal near the 10100 block of West Broward Boulevard, this was five miles away from where Doris and Caren were living before they disappeared in 1974. The discovery was made by Sunshine State Sonar, a group that conducts volunteer searches for missing people and their vehicles in waterways in Broward and Miami-Dade County, Florida.

The group found the deteriorated remains of a red 1960s Chevrolet Impala. Inside, investigators found the skeletal remains of an adult and a small child which is consistent with Doris and Caren. They also found some articles of clothing as well as toys belonging to the child in the vehicle as well. Positive identification is pending but investigators are certain they’ve located the missing mother and daughter.

Their families have been notified of the discovery. It’s currently unclear how exactly the pair ended up in the canal.

Robby Lynn Peay

Above: Robby circa, 1982

Vital Statistics at Time of Disappearance

Missing Since: October 7, 1982

Missing From: Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County, Utah

Classification: Endangered Missing

Date Of Birth: August 2, 1965

Age: 17 years old

Date Recovered: February 12, 1983

Location: Moab, Utah

Identified: January 2025

Details of Disappearance

Robby was last seen in Salt Lake City, Utah on October 7th 1982. He reportedly escaped from the Youth Diagnostic Center with another boy and was never seen or heard from again after this. The boy who ran away with Robby was later located and claimed they both split from each other once they were off of the center’s grounds.

Investigators originally assumed he was a runaway since he had done so before. He reportedly ran away from his home prior to his disappearance and once ran away to Colorado where he took laboring jobs like roofing in order to get by.

On February 12th 1983, a rancher hiking through Arches National Park in the Three Gossips Area discovered the body of a young male buried in a sand wash just 100 yards away from the pavement. The remains belonged to a white male who was between 18-25 years old when he died. The victim was murdered, having been shot in the back of the head with a .22 caliber gun.

Police originally noted the victims resemblance to Robby but a comparison of dental records at the time yielded no conclusive match. In 2018, a detective began investigating Robby’s case who decided to reexamine the dental records they had for both Robby and the unidentified man. An error was found to have occurred while the entry was made and it was fixed.

Following the review, it was noted that Robby and the man were a near perfect match in terms of dental records. However, they wanted to make absolutely sure that the man and Robby were the same person. Robby was adopted when he was an infant so DNA testing was impossible without finding his birth family. In October 2022, they tracked down his biological parents who gave DNA for testing.

In January of 2025, the DNA tests concluded and showed that the murder victim recovered from Arches National Park in 1983 was in fact Robby. Police are now investigating who killed Peay but have not publicly named any suspects. Sadly, Robby’s case is still partly unsolved.

Darren Bruce Hillis

Left and Right: Darren, circa 1973

Vital Statistics at Time of Disappearance

Missing Since: March 12, 1973

Missing From: Norfolk, Norfolk City County, Virginia

Classification: Endangered Missing

Date Of Birth: March 6, 1959

Age: 14 years old

Date Recovered: March 25, 1973

Location: Norfolk, Norfolk City County, Virginia

Identified: March 17, 2025

Details of Disappearance

Darren was last seen in Norfolk, Virginia on March 12th 1973. He left his home at 7:00 am to catch the school bus located six minutes away. He never arrived to the school bus stop and was never seen or heard from again. He wasn’t discovered as missing until 9:30 am when the Blair Junior High School notified his family that he never arrived for classes that day.

The search began at 5:00 pm when his parents arrived home. His father and brother, Dana, searches the woods across the street for Darren but found no sign he was in there. His two siblings originally assumed he was playing hooky which he had never done before. His brother and sister were both home sick that day.

Investigators were unsure of what happened to Darren while he was walking to the school bus stop. They investigated many possibilities, including that foul play was involved or that he left of his own accord but no trace of Hillis was ever found.

On March 25th 1973, the body of an unidentified man was found floating in the Lafayette River near Hampton Boulevard Bridge. At the time, police believed the body was that of an adult male and didn’t link it to Darren’s disappearance which had occurred less than two weeks before the discovery.

On March 17th 2025, DNA tests conclusively identified the body as belonging to Darren Hillis. His cause of death could not be determined.

Missing From: Chicago, Cook County, Illinois

Classification: Endangered Runaway

Date Of Birth: January 20, 1958

Age: 12 years old

Date Recovered: 2025

It has now been revealed that Helen left Illinois at some point after her disappearance in the early 1970s. She applied for a social security card under an alias name in The Bronx, New York in 1977 and went on to have two children before sadly passing away in December of 1988.

Norman Lamar Prater

Above: Norman, circa 1973

Vital Statistics at Time of Disappearance

Missing Since: January 14, 1973

Missing From: Dallas, Dallas County, Texas

Classification: Endangered Missing

Date Of Birth: June 6, 1956

Age: 16 years old

Date Recovered: July 9, 1973

Location: Rockport, Aransus County, Texas

Identified: January 3, 2026

Details of Disappearance

Norman was last seen in Dallas, Texas on January 14th 1973. He was last seen by his mother as he went to the all night coffee shop she worked at. He got a soft drink and was accompanied by two unidentified teenage boys that his mother could not recognize. He was also with an older Hispanic man. The two boys had shoulder length hair. Norman told his mother he would help her move the next day and that he was going home. He never arrived home and was never seen or heard from again.

Investigators initially believed that Norman fell victim to foul play. They have looked at the possibility that he was a victim of serial killer, Dean Corll. He was responsible for the murders and sexual assaults of 28 boys and young males in the Houston area of Texas between 1970 and 1973.

He had two teenage accomplices named, David Brooks and Elmer Wayne Henley, both would help lure victims to his home. Prater lived in the neighborhood that many of Dean’s victims lived in and he attended the same school as Elmer Henley which was Jackson Junior High School. No link could ever be found between Corll and Norman.

On July 9th 1973, Norman was killed in a hit and run accident. His body was found on the side of a road on County Route 35 in Rockport, Texas. His body was not identified until January of 2026, almost 53 years after his disappearance.
